Category 2

2a: Fully Autonomous Micro Robot Maze Competition

2b: Remote-controlled Micro Robot Maze Competition

Regulation

The competition involves racing from the start point to the finish point through five points set up on a flat course. The start, finish, and points are designed as shown in Figure 1. The course is made of aluminum alloy and is finished to prevent short-circuits due to static electricity.

The size of the robot is limited to less than 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm, excluding antennas and other interfaces. The size of the robot will be measured by judges before the competition. Energy supply must be provided by installing a battery inside the robot or wirelessly supplying it from the outside.

The fully autonomous robots will be targeted in category 2a, and the remotely controlled robots will be targeted in category 2b to compete for rankings.

The time limit is 2 minutes. If the robot falls off the course or stops moving, it can be restarted from the same place by hand, but a penalty of 5 seconds will be added to the running time for each time.

The following actions will incur a penalty of 5 seconds added to the running time per occurrence:
